With Cee Lo’s Magic Moment, the yuletide just got a little more soulful. He recalls late 1960s Stevie Wonder in a bouncing rendition of “What Christmas Means To Me” — this version balanced with a classic groove mixed to sound bombastic. Over the timeless tones of swanky cocktail jazz, Christina Aguilera duets with Green in a flirty take on “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” He hits some near-Marvin Gaye moments in “This Christmas” with big, beautiful orchestral sweeps before giving the Phil Spector treatment to “White Christmas,” replete with that grandiose wall of sound production revisited by The Raveonettes and the late Amy Winehouse. The proverbial star that tops this tree shines brightest during a hilarious collaboration with The Muppets. For his soul-pop original “All I Need Is Love,” Green is joined by everyone’s favorite Jim Henson characters as they ingeniously mash in parts of their famously covered Piero Umiliani jam, "Mah Nà Mah Nà." This is almost rivaled by acapella group Straight No Chaser for a fun take on “You’re A Mean On, Mr. Grinch.”
