We Wish You a Merry Christmas finds Ray Conniff stretching out a bit from the usual holiday album form. Unlike 1959's pop-oriented Christmas With Conniff, this LP focuses on extended medleys largely built from traditional carols, such as "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "We Three Kings of Orient Are." It's by no means a somber affair, however. The close harmonies of The Ray Conniff Singers and the bandleader's inventive easy-listening arrangements are as exquisite as ever.
