A bazillion TikTok views later, Cambridge, Ontario’s Aidan Fuller, aka 347aidan, has settled into a groove of making catchy, grungy, hip-hop-influenced bedroom pop following the viral success of 2020’s “Dancing in My Room.” But on the five songs that make up his third EP, CHASING HARMONY, darker themes are concealed amid the woozy sonics, hooky lyrics, and Fuller’s slept-through-the-alarm vocals. On “HARMONY,” a languid guitar winds its way around a thumping beat and rhymes about self-doubt and self-destruction, while the fuzzy indie rock of “IDONTWANNATALKTOYOU!” (featuring fellow Canadian pop singer renforshort) chronicles a disintegrating relationship that’s as much a breakdown as it is a breakup.
